Refocus on Discipline

As summer ends, August is a perfect time to recommit to your core values of discipline and diligence. These values are essential for your ongoing personal development and dedication to firearms.

This month, learn how incorporating discipline into your everyday routine can enhance your spiritual journey and improve your shooting skills. Gentlemen, simply put, I’m presenting to you a self-improvement challenge to be more productive and effective in life by building up your confidence, competence, and integrity.

The Book of Proverbs clearly defines God’s guidance in matters related to your everyday life.

As iron sharpens iron, so a friend sharpens a friend.
Proverbs 27:17 (NLT)

Because we are naturally prone to easily slip back into old behaviors and attitudes, the Guys, Guns & God Guide extends and enhances God’s guidance with tools to help you identify the areas of your life needing improvement. Building up your confidence will help you learn to think for yourself and react accordingly, and for some, it’s a skill set never experienced or it was inappropriately taught.

Shooting sports and living well takes practice, wisdom, and discipline. Discipline and diligence are often the most challenging aspects of pursuing spiritual and firearm development. The reward is building personal responsibility that you will carry with you for a lifetime and make you a person of high integrity.

Always Learning

This month’s Proverb allows us to refocus on discipline and diligence in daily life.

Their purpose is to teach people wisdom and discipline, to help them understand the insights of the wise. Their purpose is to teach people to live disciplined and successful lives, to help them do what is right, just, and fair.

Proverbs 1: 2-3 (NLT)

Meaning: The goal of this Proverb is to describe and instill “wisdom “in God’s people, a wisdom that is found in the verse, “Fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge” (Proverbs. 1:7 NLT). Only when a person completely trusts in God will he be truly wise. The person who lacks humility in the presence of God and the willingness to learn from Him will inevitably fail and go astray. Everything about successful living concerns God, and He will help you achieve positive outcomes.

Real Stories, Real Lessons

Discover the benefits of being diligent in your pursuits, whether related to faith, family, or firearms.

My Sovereign Lord gave me the prophetic dream of Guys, Guns, and God and a clear vision of this unique instrument. The message of combining Proverbs with shooting sports and firearms safety opened a new perspective of personal discipline and maturity for life.

The Holy Spirit guided all the people who supported me in his project and helped bring it to completion over four years. Despite moments of doubt and the temptation to abandon the project, my faith, discipline, diligence, timely interventions, and the support of some extraordinary people saw me through to completion.

It never ceases to amaze me how certain people are placed in my life at specific times to encourage me and help me understand the deeper reasons for creating this guide. My ultimate mission is to assist others in leading more fulfilling lives characterized by faith, hope, and the exhilaration of shooting guns. Guys, Guns, and God challenge every reader and participant to self-improvement by investing in themselves and building their confidence, competence, and integrity.

I often feel nudged by what I believe to be God’s guidance. Despite daily distractions and interruptions, I am determined not to give up.

Over the years, I have gained a better understanding of my desires, talents, skills, and spiritual gifts. My faith and awareness of divine guidance have grown as I have matured spiritually. I approach life cautiously and respectfully, and I hope you do, too.

By focusing on our discipline (self-control) and diligence (perseverance), we reveal our true character to the world through our words and actions.
